About Us

Wilson Farms is the fulfillment of our owner’s dream. Keith Wilson has always wanted to be a land owner and farmer. He was born in the village of Agricola (Latin for farmer) on the East Bank of the Demerara River in Guyana. At the age of six, he first became associated with livestock as a member of the 4-H Club in Leeds village primary school. There, his responsibility was to feed the tilapia in the fish pond.

After High school, he migrated to the USA and received his B.Sc. at Physics at the California State Polytechnic University, a school known for its agriculture. Keith received a Ph.D in Physics from the University of Southern California and worked as an Assistant Professor at this Alma Mater, before joining the commercial Aerospace Industry. He left Industry to join NASA ‘s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to do research in laser communications where he built NASA’s first optical communications telescope in Wrightwood California. After twenty-seven exciting years as an acknowledged leader in space laser communications he retired to Evans Georgia to pursue his dream as a farmer. He is dedicated to nourishing his community with a source of protein that is a healthy alternative to our high cholesterol foods.

Wilson Farms is located on seventy-five acres of previously clear-cut loblolly pines in Lincolnton Georgia. Twenty of the acres of overgrown shrubs, vines and sweet gum trees were converted to pasture land to humanely raise a herd of Kiko goats grazing free-range on a stand of costal Bermuda grass, white clover and winter rye. Keith is dedicated to conservation and has worked with the Natural Resources Conservation Service to allocate a portion of the remaining fifty-five acres to:

  1. Reestablishing a stand of loblolly trees

  2. Establishing a wild life habitat

  3. Supporting the local population of bees, butterflies, moths and other pollinators
